OCEC is a renewable energy cooperative in which residents of Oxford County and all of Ontario are invited to become members to jointly create a more environmentally sustainable community without a need to compromise their investment objective for profit potential. Oxford Community Energy Co-operative will serve the communities it operates in by keeping the ownership, the profits, and the business is conducts local.

OCEC is a grassroots cooperative that is working to bring local generation to Oxford. With Gunn’s Hill Wind Farm achieving commercial operation the cooperative is looking ahead to 2017 to begin their next renewable generation venture. Currently, OCEC has received approval for solar projects under the Ontario FIT program and will be releasing more information regarding investment opportunities in the new year.

* Creating integrated programming for 1st Year Leadership Program and leading a council of 15 student representatives to advocate for residence sustainability. * Organize weekly meetings with sustainability reps, guiding them in planning and executing successful events to promote environmentally sustainable living among university students * Facilitating training on codes of conduct, diversity, roles and expectations, and professional development

* Coordinate meetings and prepare agendas to ensure meeting flow and productivity * Liaise with student groups and communicate with University and community partners * Promote environmentally responsible practices throughout the University * Provide campus-specific guidance to the Sustainability Office on sustainability program development and delivery * Organize representatives from all areas of the University including undergraduates, graduates, staff, faculty, department heads and other campus offices

* Assisted in the development of a corporate-wide sustainability plan. * Led the compilation and preparation of annual sustainability report. * Prepared first draft of sustainability policy and reviewed other corporate policies to ensure alignment with sustainability plan. * Assisted Conservation and Demand Management business unit with marketing and community outreach events and programs such as; Home Assistance Program (HAP), Small Business Lighting (SBL) and Equipment Replacement Incentive Initiative (ERII) * Liaised with all stakeholders regarding the development of sustainability plan, including internal business units, municipal shareholders, customers and suppliers. * Assisted Conservation and Demand Management business unit with marketing and community outreach events. * Assisted legal department with a variety of matters, including purchase and sale transactions and contract review and drafting. * Assisted corporate secretary with various matters, including the preparation of board materials and the development of a board meeting protocol.

* The Future Oxford: A Community Sustainability Plan sets out the community's vision for how we will manage community, environmental and economic resources for Oxford County's future growth and wellbeing. The final draft Plan, which can be viewed at www.futureoxford.ca. sets out 70 distinct actions including: * Reducing the percentage of Oxford County residents living in poverty * Increasing the number of residences with post-secondary education; * Increasing participation in arts, recreation, and cultural activities; * Growing jobs relative to population growth; * Encourage production and consumption of locally produced food and products, and achieving the * highest total waste diversion rate per capita in Ontario. * As Program Director I will be identifying and communicating with stakeholder groups to promote cooperation, enthusiasm and commitment towards the attainment of common goals to further the Future Oxford Community Sustainability Plan initiatives in a way that maximizes resources, eliminates duplication and creates opportunities.
