Fu-Syuan Wang

Hi, I’m Tofus—a designer deeply rooted in civic tech and open-source communities. My journey began at 17 when I joined Taiwan’s g0v community, where I discovered how design could bridge the gap between complex technologies and real-world social issues. I’ve worn many hats: UX design intern at National Taiwan University, product designer at Hepta Protocol, and contributor with Superbloom. Through these experiences, I’ve led workshops, facilitated community-driven projects, and explored the intersections of design, technology, and civic engagement. In 2024, I took a gap year supported by Jamie's Gapyear Program, focusing on community building and open-source design. This journey taught me that meaningful design doesn’t always have to be flashy or grand. I’m passionate about creating simple, useful tools that solve everyday problems—whether it’s a small web app I built for myself or a UX improvement that makes public systems more accessible. I believe technology should empower individuals, not overwhelm them. My work reflects this belief, from lightweight HTML tools to platforms that foster decentralized collaboration. I’m excited to continue exploring how design can make technology more human-centered and communities more connected.
