Contracted to provide logistical coordination for Emergency Management Response and Recovery efforts for areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. Responsibilities included contracting and scheduling transportation for material / supplies, effected people and volunteers. Provide project management for JLW Associates clients regarding the distributions of materials donated to assist evacuees and their host cities regarding their respective recovery efforts.

Responsibilities as Operations manager include directing the day to day activities of the hauling, and recycle buy back operations (union environment). Directing and implementing Waste Managements’ Service Machine guidelines, document/data control, safety, route management, and HR policies and procedures. Providing daily reports and analysis to the Market Area District Manager utilizing an AS400, Oracle based management systems, identifying operational efficiencies and challenges. Other duties included but not limited to: Analyze P & L’s and manage to budget Communicate with county officials and the public assuring a high level of customer satisfaction Assuring compliance to DOT and OSHA standards for driver qualifications and equipment operation Perform individual evaluations and provide feedback regarding performance Coordinate activities within the maintenance department regarding DOT compliance, BIT inspections, preventive maintenance, budget adherence, and repairs.

Management of 3PL warehouse, transportation and administrative functions related to the Transportation Facility. Responsibilities include analyzing P&L, customer service, Hazardous Material management and training, warehouse operations, safety/shrink control, inventory control, and building maintenance. Managing a logistics operation that supports 100 company stores, ensuring orders are selected, packaged, loaded, and dispatched safely, timely, efficiently, economically, and that proper records are maintained. Other duties include but are not limited to: Review inbound load forecasting to determine number of loads and impact on resources. Analyze product mix and manage to maximize merchandise value per load and reduce cost per load. Review previous day’s on-time performance, tractor utilization, detention and ad hoc drops to influence corrections when results deviate from expectations. Modify schedules, as necessary, to ensure alignment with operational goals Ensure all invoices are properly authorized and paid within prescribed time limit.
