Allegro Energy makes electrical energy storage safe, efficient, sustainable and affordable. Whether in electric mobility, medium to large-scale energy storage or uninterrupted power supply, Allegro's proprietary technology brings us one step closer to a zero carbon economy. We discovered a new type of cheap, non-flammable, water-based electrolyte that offers a wealth of advantages over "classic" electrolytes without compromising performance. The technology applies to different types of energy storage devices but we’re focused on building supercapacitors (for applications like EVs, e-buses, UPS and FFR) and flow batteries (for utility-scale energy storage) At Allegro Energy, we design customised energy storage solutions for a wide range of applications using our new, green technology.

Worked as a senior tutor for first year general chemistry university courses which involves liaising with lecturers and the rest of the tutor team to make sure our students were supported. Also running tutorials for up to 30 students both in person and online. As a demonstrator for both first year general chemistry and second year physical chemistry labs, I have been involved in running labs from a logistical standpoint looking after up to 30 students at once making sure they complete their assigned work in an efficient and safe manner. I have also designed an experiment for the second year physical chemistry lab which is still in use.

Involved in the creation of education chemistry content aimed at New Zealand high school students (15-18 years old). During this time I wrote comprehensive textbook style "Walk-through Guides" for each of the external NCEA standards for Level 2 and Level 3 chemistry and created exam preparation resources which have been cumulatively viewed over 100,000 times. I was also involved in the creation of video content for the company's YouTube channel that revolved around exam prep and some deep dives into particular chemistry concepts.

During this time I mentored over 50 young tutors to help them develop their skills to make them more confident and effective in their lessons. I also taught over 100 students for a combined total of over 4000 hours of 1-on-1 tutoring with students at all levels, from primary school students to mature students. I also gained experience in teaching students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and learning difficulties such as dyslexia and ADHD. I mostly taught chemistry but also have a lot of experience with high school maths and physics. I also developed a wide variety of resources, both written and visual, to help tutors improve their confidence when teaching chemistry.
