Frank Yang

I am the founding partner& CEO of Blue Ocean Capital Group ("BOCG”). With 25 years’ experience and US$ 1 billion proven track records in PEVC investment, I focus on life science investment since year 2010 and has invested biotech, medtech and Healthcare service companies from early startup, growth, PIPE and privatization in different capital markets. As a dedicated investor to life science investment, we empower innovation for better cure of patients globally. As believer of value creation, we invest across continents from Asia, Middle East, Europe to USA, we enrich entrepreneurs with funding, strategy and resources globally. As an impact investor, we promote entrepreneurships, innovation and corporate governance in both practices and theoretical level, and I had published numerous related research. With my initial, BOCG joined the Responsible Investment Organization supported by the United Nations (“UN PRI”) and had won prize of social responsible enterprise awards. Before founding BOCG, I served as the managing director of China Construction Bank International (“CCBI”) jn Hong Kong, in charge of healthcare principle investment and a RMB 3 billion healthcare investment fund. Prior to that, as head and managing director of PPF Group, a leading financial institution in CEE, I was responsible for strategic investment in Asia and contributed to the establishment of HomeCredit China. My finance career started in 2001 when I served as a founding member and vice president of the venture capital investment arm of Xiangcai Securities, where we succeeded achieving a 6X return on investment. I currently sits on the board of HK Bio-Med Innovation Association (“HKBMIA”), Chinese Financial Association in Hong Kong(“HCFA”), PRC Committee of Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (“HKVCA”), and the advisory board of HKUST MBA Business School. Other my work, I am passionate as a contemporary art collector and patron. He is the founder of Frank F. Yang and Education Foundation, and had supported various exhibitions and museums’ programs including UCCA in Beijing and M+ Museum in Hong Kong. I am so grateful for my continuous education at the newly accepted Global Healthcare Leader Program at Harvard Medical School and the years’ long art history phd program at CUHK, as well as my finished MBA at HKUST, with exchange at Columbia Business School in New York and HHL Business School in Leipzig, my Bachelor degree from Zhongnan University of Finance& Law.
