Frank Schillig

As of May 2023 Frank Schillig has co-founded CirclEnergy GmbH and is managing the company, offering EPC-services for medium- and large-scale PV projects and charging infrastrukture. Until January 2023 he directed Energiegewinner Technik GmbH - part of the energy cooperative Energiegewinner eG -, leading a team of 50 employees and developing business activities in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy services - from the very local level for energy cooperatives to the development of new energy business in specific international markets. Since 2020 he is also part of the climate committee of the city of Cologne - a PPP-task force to develop and set into life climate neutrality in the city of Cologne, Germany. Until August 2016 Frank Schillig had been co-founder and appointed managing director of KWA Eviva, a project development and consultancy company working in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency since the end of 2009. He looks back at more than twenty years of professional experience in the field of renewable energy technologies. At Eviva he focused on project development in sustainable heat and PV projects in countries outside of Germany, e.g. Turkey. Until 2009 Frank had been working as International Business Development Manager for bioenergy and large-scale solar energy projects for Ecofys Germany. He has been working as a Senior Consultant and Internationalisation Manager Bioenergy for Ecofys since 2000. He has been leading projects in all combined heat and power, biomass-to-energy, solar and wind energy related technologies among them the development and retaliation of such projects, studies for policy makers, strategic consultancy services for market parties, feasibility studies and due diligence assignments for project developers and banks. His know-how covers all aspects regarding technology, economics, environmental issues as well as the boundary conditions such as energy policy, legal framework and permitting issues. He has published a number of articles, has been appointed as chairman to bioenergy conferences and is co-author of a guidebook on bioenergy that was published in six European countries. As a certified PRINCE2-project manager he has successfully coordinated larger projects with arrays of partners.
