* Design of a digital ASIC that, starting from an efficient coded * relative vector description generates absolute (x,y) values. These * values are then fed into a DAC, which steers the servo engines * of a deflection head with 2 mirrors: one for the x-axis and one * for the y-axis. This allows to direct a laser beam, which carves a * pattern into some material. The chip can deliver an (x,y) pair * every 750ns. The chip is typically used to produce the symbols * on the keys of keyboards. The design was done remotely from * KIHWV Oostende (now KHBO) on the Invomec computers * at IMEC Leuven.
