inDicatorS - healthcare for quality of life and meaningful participation of people with Down Syndrome (DS) in society. Healthcare for people with DS is complex and involves a large number of professionals. In the Netherlands, several multidisciplinary teams, institutions and professionals are providing healthcare for children and adults with DS. The type and quality of the available healthcare may vary between healthcare providers, which makes it hard to find the right care for a person with DS. Quality indicators have the potential to structure the development of multidisciplinary care, improve clinical decisions and guide organizational reform. inDicatorS aims to map chronic healthcare for people with DS and develop evidence- and practice-based quality indicators.
