• Lead the Pulitzer Center’s impact and strategic communication strategy. Manage a team of 30+ members in the US, Latin America, Africa and Asia, using journalism, social movement, and academia to raise awareness of inequalities and environmental issues. • Lead the organization’s Theory of Change, reimagining the Center's strategic framework to prioritize how journalism drives tangible, measurable change in society. • Spearhead major programs, such as the Impact Initiative, that provide grants and strategic communication guidance to journalists to help their stories move beyond publication and reach real-world outcomes. • Facilitate a multi-stakeholder forum, bringing together specialists, leaders, students, teachers, youth, influencers, and other important stakeholders across the globe, promoting collaboration within the full Pulitzer network.

• Direct the International Education and Outreach Program and global team with initiatives in Europe, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, DRC, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar. • Build and oversee the education and outreach team of coordinators in countries of the Amazon, Congo Basin, and Southeast Asia; overseeing partnerships in Global South regions, the U.S., and Europe.

• Serve on the board and Strategic Communications Committee for a donor–civil society collaborative focused on halting tropical deforestation and supporting Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and Afro-descendant stewards. • Led revision and approval of the committee’s overall strategy and guidelines; review and approve grant awards to advance equitable, durable forest protection and community-led development. • Study Southern ecofeminist theories and practices, and women-led environmental and land movements. Examine the gender-nature intersection and its role in fostering a decolonized, socially just climate sociology. • Serve as an international lecturer on the intersection of gender and environment across Finland, Portugal, Brazil, the USA, and the DRC, contributing to global discourse on climate sociology. • Since 2023, co-led the Ecology and Society Lab (ECOSOC), a working group formed in 2011 that unites researchers, practitioners, and doctoral students to deepen the analysis of social-ecological connections. • Developed global communication and narrative strategies to inform grantmaking priorities and ecosystem investments advancing climate action, protection of tropical forests, and the rights of Indigenous and traditional peoples. • Led multi-year learning journey with 30 civil society organizations, Indigenous movements, and research institutes, supporting grantee learning and field-wide strategy. • Directed senior strategic communications and research staff in support of grantmaking focused on narrative change and equity, with and for frontline communities. • Oversaw large-scale research initiatives, including a 4,500-respondent public opinion and audience segmentation study. • Designed and led 200+ capacity-building workshops for grantees and partners; founded ECOAR, a network for environmental and Indigenous influencers.

• Founded and led an independent media and education nonprofit advancing inclusive narratives and leadership across the Global South, building cultural ecosystems across Africa and Brazil: www.afreaka.com.br • Built the organization from concept to a sustainable institution, directing a bilingual editorial program of 200+ articles, 110,000+ followers on social media, and a digital audience of 3.5 million readers. • Drove diversified funding and led donor engagement—launching crowdfunding campaigns, creating paid educational products, and securing grants, government collaborations, and prize-based funding. • Led original field research and reporting across 16 African countries and Brazil, developing long-term partnerships with journalists, artists, educators, and cultural institutions across the Global South. • Served as Executive Editor of a global network of 120 writers, centering underrepresented voices and alternative narratives. • Conceived and directed the Afreaka Festival, engaging 15,000 participants across two editions. • Authored five award-winning educational books adopted by public education systems and distributed to 1,800 schools. • Recognized with seven regional and national awards for contributions to human rights, culture, and journalism.

• Served as Communications Lead Manager and Education Focal Point for the UN Environment Programme in Brazil, directing national and regional strategic communications and public information initiatives. • Oversaw development and implementation of integrated communications strategies, led and mentored the communications team, and ensured alignment with UNEP global priorities. • Acted as national focal point for the Global Programme Youth and Education Alliance, the UN Environmental Rights Initiative, and the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender‑Based Violence, representing the office in high‑level policy, stakeholder, and partnership engagements.

• Served as Rapporteur for the International Seminar on the Brazilian Response to the Zika Epidemic; and authored the report "International Seminar: Childhood in Times of Zika" to strengthen UNICEF's role in supporting government policies for women and children with disabilities in health, education, and protection.

• Consultant in communication for development, local knowledge exchange, and rural development, supporting the programmes to empower rural communities and youth.

• Incubated neighborhood associations and led community organizing for participatory budgeting, public‑square revitalization, and local education improvements. • Designed and facilitated workshops, meetings, and lectures on communication for development, sustainable local development, and ICTs. • Directly impacted 750+ residents across two low‑income neighborhoods. Project awarded the UN Global Millennium Prize (Winner Project).

Final Work: Rural Communication for Sustainable Development Thesis that examines how participatory and dialogical communication can be a strategy for sustainable development in rural communities and what is its role in the process to maximize the participation of small farmers in an economic, environmental and social sustainable perspective.
