Bitfusion was acquired by VMware in August 2019. Led the integration of the Bitfusion team into VMware and defined and delivered the integrated platform for vSphere. Successfully moved the release process to a quarterly delivery. Currently lead the AI/ML Engineering efforts for ESXi.

Waypoint is a San Francisco based software and analytics provider for commercial buildings. Waypoint’s mission is to increase the way commercial real estate decision-makers access and use information to improve the performance of their assets. Waypoint’s commercial real estate intelligence platform aggregates property, financial and energy data and delivers increased visibility into the operating performance of buildings. Waypoint delivers technology and professional services solutions to both commercial real estate and utility customers.

Xyratex was acquired by Seagate Technology in 2014. Director Engineering Seagate Technology 2014 - 2015 Lead the ISV and Reference Architecture Engineering team. Work closely with 3rd Party software vendors to craft and create solutions that use Seagate hardware systems to best deliver value and build new markets for Seagate's Cloud Systems and Solutions Group. Senior Director, Software Engineering Xyratex 2013 - 2014 Responsible for all of the Software development in the worldwide OEM Storage Solutions (OSS) organization. Creating new teams to address the growing Cloud Storage and Flash Storage markets, and owning the System Software development for OSS. Director, Cloud Storage Xyratex 2013 Created and led the team tasked with creating a brand new Cloud Storage Appliance for Xyratex to allow it to address an brand new market.

Brought on board to create new organization that would expedite Dell’s ability to win new NAS business. Manage budget of $3M and team of 10. Lead NAS application integration development, fostering partnerships with companies such as VMware and Commvault (ISV). Interact with Filesystem, storage array, server, and networking teams on various initiatives. Conduct technical due diligence for potential acquisitions. • Created and implemented Continuous Integration development/QA process for brand-new team, accelerating the delivery of initial business value and ensuring ongoing optimization of value. • Defined and created 3 new 1.0 products for the NAS Application Integration effort. Assembled new team and collaborated with internal Enterprise Solutions Group as well as external partners to ensure successful integration.

Hired to lead the System Software team in the timely delivery of the CUDA driver on a quarterly basis. Subsequently built new Tesla business that represented an interdisciplinary effort involving architecture, HW, GPU board design, sales, and other teams. Developed roadmap for software and worked with customers/vendors on validation. Served as the engineering liaison for all major OEMs (HP, Dell, IBM, others) and software partners. Directed, trained, and mentored team members that included management personnel; dotted line responsibilities to Resource Manager group. • Played key role in first #1 Supercomputer in the top 500 that used GPUs, functioning as the engineering liaison for 3 of the 5 top 500 supercomputers in 2010. Helped grow Tesla business from $10M to $100M annually. • Delivered patented technology GPUDirect that allowed for bypassing the CPU in network communications with supercomputers; collaborated with internal teams as well as external partners Mellanox and QLogic. • Improved business’ ability to deliver features and innovations to internal and external customers by standardizing and streamlining the program management process for delivery of CUDA Driver/Toolkit.

Held open-ended role that involved growing OpenStorage as a brand, managing the community, and evangelizing Sun’s new technologies using OpenSolaris (emphasis in Storage) to build momentum for Sun’s new products. Delivered presentations at various conferences on OpenStorage and Solaris technologies. • Coordinated and managed program for 2nd OpenStorage conference in San Francisco, generating across-the-board commendations from attendees. • Achieved business development goals through interactions and collaborations with OpenStorage startups such as Nexenta and Violin Memory who had been using Solaris.

Promoted to direct the entire development team of 16 developers following departure of manager. Maintained dotted line relationship with 9-member QA team. Oversaw deployment of product line throughout Sun’s System Test organization, training support/field teams. Took over responsibility for team developing iSER and iSCSI. • Led successful integration of iSCSI and iSER into Solaris Nevada/OpenSolaris and open-sourced majority of Honeycomb software stack. • Delivered Honeycomb 1.1 and 1.1.1 products that won Infoworld’s 2009 Best Storage appliance award.

Brought on board to lead Platform Team and develop new team in Menlo Park to productize cluster, distributed storage system Honeycomb. Coordinated activities and schedules of team in developing underlying platform for Honeycomb, including system bring-up and clustering software. • Drove resolution for difficult-to-locate failover bug that was identified in the RPC stack, working jointly with team members in Networking and NFS Development. • Coordinated efforts in delivering HotSwap for Honeycomb among SATA Driver, ZFS Development, and Solaris Release Management teams.
