This was a semester exchange back in one of my favourite cities. Modules I took include Hong Kong Politics and Labour State in China. Besides the academic aspect of the exchange, I also took the chance to hike various mountains there. By visiting the surroundings islands, I got an opportunity to appreciate Hong Kong's unique mix of modernity and nature. Their effort to retain the villagers' culture in islands such as Yin Tim Tsai and Tai O was an eye-opener for me as it showed precisely how modernity can co-exist with culture and history in the same city.
