As the VP of RF & Network Infrastructure in AST & Science, I oversee all aspects of the RF engineering and network infrastructure for the first and only global cellular broadband network in space that operates directly with standard mobile devices. I lead the RF system design, the phase array antenna development, and the selection and testing of all RF components on the satellite payloads, utilizing and adopting New Space concepts. I also collaborate with cross-functional teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure the highest quality standards, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. Our mission is to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's mobile subscribers and bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. - RF system lead for TT&C and communications satellite payloads working in mmW frequencies up to 60 GHz. R&D, selection and testing of all RF components on the satellite payloads including radios, transceivers, cables, amplifiers, utilizing and adopting "New Space" concepts. - Phase array antenna development lead. Unique mechanical and electrical design concepts implemented - Responsible for all ground satellite systems including gateway design, gateway locations, components selection and hardware development from BBU (BTS, eNodeB and gNodeB) to gateway LEO tracking antennas - Network design including network orchestration ML/AI, OSS/BSS and network security. Frequency planning and band allocation for both user and feeder links. Link budgets - Responsible for Satellite RAN research and design, combining satellite and mobile (3GPP) concepts that led to new inventions in hardware and software to be able to connect standard mobile devices directly to a LEO satellite with different technologies (2G, 4G/LTE, 5G NR) - Responsible for the end to end lab and satellite field tests working with different RAN vendors and technologies as well as different user equipment (UE)
