Zara Isa Modibbo

I help global investors and founders navigate Africa’s healthtech and women’s health landscape—through strategy, partnerships, and innovation. I am a Clinical Microbiologist and global health leader with over a decade of experience advancing women’s health and health technology. My work bridges clinical research, laboratory medicine, and digital health to expand access to high-quality, culturally relevant care across Africa and beyond. Over the years, I have set up world-class laboratories to international standards, led research in infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance, and built partnerships that translate science into impact. Today, as 𝗖𝗼-𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗯𝗼 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 and 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗭𝗛𝗧 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆, I focus on leveraging diagnostics, telemedicine, and AI-driven solutions to ensure women everywhere can access safe, reliable, and timely healthcare. I also work with startups and investors as a 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿—helping founders grow and guiding investors through due diligence in Africa’s healthtech and women’s health landscape. In 2010, I was honored with the 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲, and I continue to draw on my training (MBBS, FWACP) and global networks across academia, industry, and public health.
