Experience

Clinical Pathologist 2
Ashland, Ohio, United States
- Publication/preparation of clinical pathology reports in preclinical toxicology studies in rodents, NHPs, dogs, rabbits, and minipigs (8-10 clinical pathology reports/month) - Consultation and Education for Study Directors for aiding Clinical Pathology Parameter Interpretation and Evaluation. - Clinical pathology lab support. (Method Validation/Development and Training for Lab staffs)

Clinical pathology fellow
Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
- Veterinary Clinical Pathology & Toxicologic Pathology Training. - Participated in Pathology Working Group for NTP and EPA projects. - Participated in a detection platform development for an early kidney damage marker, Cystatin C. - Investigation of Strain Susceptibility Differences: Evaluating Moribund Status, Histopathology and Serum Biomarkers of Cardiac Injury in three different strains, Male B6C3F1/J mice and their parental strains C3H/HeJ (paternal) and C57BL/6J (maternal)

Postdoctoral Fellow
Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
- Established the Drosophila S2 & S3 cell lines that expressed a stable, genetically encoded calcium indicator, GCaMP3. - Demonstrated a novel Drosophila cytokine, growth-blocking peptide (GBP), that acts through the phospholipase C (PLC)/Ca2+ signaling cascade to mediate the secretion of a ligand for platelet-derived growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor-receptor (Pvr) homologue. - Determined GBP was a ligand for the orphan G protein coupled receptor, Methuselah-like receptor-10 (Mthl10). - Demonstrated how longevity of the fly (i.e., the organism) was linked to immunological, metabolic and stress-protective responses by genetically manipulating the GBP/Mthl10 connection in larvae and adults.

PHD Student
Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
- Specialized in leukocyte biology and innate immune system regulation - Investigated the role of Myristoylated Alanine-Rich C-Kinase Substrate (MARCKS) protein in cell signaling, inflammation, and innate immunity. - Gained in-depth knowledge of dysregulated signal transduction and its impact on inflammatory diseases. - Engaged with the North Carolina State University Center for Comparative Medicine and Translational Research (CCMTR), strengthened interest in bridging fundamental research with clinical applications.
