Responsible for procurement for two shipyards in Kaag and Amsterdam, managing a team of 28 FTE. Successfully designed and built a new, centrally led procurement department with a strong focus on Category Management, transforming the function from administrative buying to strategic purchasing. Developed and implemented SCM vision and strategy, defining department goals resulting in a multi-year department plan (purchasing & logistics). Established saving targets focused on efficiency and continuous improvement. Supported Category Buyers with developing and implementing product market/category strategies. Established and maintained excellent relationships with stakeholders within RVL and the Feadship group.

My responsibility was to build an efficient and lean supply chain for subcontracted services such as conservation-, engineering-, installation- & block building services and hardware such as steel plates & pipe spools through; • developing the category sourcing strategies in line with business and product needs, • driving & implementing identification of productivity and/or cost avoidance potentials, • designing and implementing supplier agreements and provide support in critical supplier negotiations • defining and re-assessing budget prices together with Design & Calculation dept. based on market insights and contracts in place, • developing and applying best practices and identifying standardization and/or leverage potential, • defining, assessing & leading (multi-disciplinary) improvement projects that deliver SMART results, • establishing, fostering and maintaining excellent relationships with business group management teams and executives to service Royal IHC stakeholder interfaces, • may/buy decisions, • relationship building & continuous improvement with chain partners.

Graduated on designing a purchasing portfolio model for IHC Parts & Services B.V. in order to determine various purchasing strategies and translating these to tactical supplier management.
