Smiths News is part of the Connect Group News and Media division, who also have a Parcel Freight and a Books division. The Group boasts a number of recognised companies within its 3 divisions including Bertrams, DMD, Wordery, Tuffnells Jack's Beans and Pass my Parcel. Based at the Langley site, my role primarily manages magazine deliveries from both Smiths News and DMD to airport based Smiths Stores, direct to leading Airlines and Rail across London.

Working with an SME business this role manages the supply chain including service, multi-user warehousing and varying disciplines of distribution. As a supply chain specialist I have demonstrated highly organised and detail-oriented skills which allows the management of overlapping projects, keeping track of deadlines, and using time effectively. A strong analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and mathematical abilities, I am a good communicator who is both persuasive and good at negotiating. In order to achieve success, I take initiative and am able to identify opportunities for improvement. I am a hands on leader and decision maker, and by investing in the people of the business have a proven track record of success.

Senior management for all areas which impact the 'student journey'. Managing 4 departments consisting of Customer Service, Warehousing and Distribution, Print Production and Business Support to ensure best practice in all areas whilst being accountable and responsible for budgets, health and safety, personnel management, etc. Leading by example I am a pro-active manager with the ability to manage personnel at all levels from shop floor to business directors. An active member of stakeholder groups within the greater BPP organisation.

Managing a £7m cost centre, the role encompasses publishing services, production, print, service, warehousing, despatch and business support for one of the largest private education providers in the UK. Lead for a number of projects including 3PL and publishing. A hands on leader and decision maker, with a proven track record for success.
