US Outbound Reporting and Compliance Tax team and main projects were related to: • Managed external tax service providers and IRS auditors to drive tax reporting and compliance procedures. • Estimated tax liabilities for Amazon and prepared tax provision calculations to directly inform year-end financial planning. • Developed a tracking system of intercompany transactions between Amazon’s foreign subsidiaries and the parent company to deliver an accurate representation of the group’s financial statements.

Represented mid and large companies in lawsuits and administrative processes in Tax Law issues such as “PIS/COFINS” Tax, Income Tax, Social Contribution on Revenues and Sales and Services Tax.

• Developed and supervised a team of one lawyer and four interns that represented mid-sized and large companies in international tax litigation related to income and sales tax issues. • Advised companies in obtaining tax clearance certificates to eliminate the cost of hundreds of thousands of reais in delinquency penalties.
