Developing new tools for injection molding

Lead the design and development of several plastic injection molds, ensuring compliance with automotive, medical, appliances, and aerospace industry customer standards. Oversee the full lifecycle of new tool development, from concept to validation, including DOE, stress testing, cosmetic trials, and capability studies. Manage mold assessments, engineering changes, and quoting requests to optimize costs and performance. Utilize reverse engineering techniques to generate and verify digital data for existing and new components. Perform precision measurements using Vision Systems, Optical Comparators, Micrometers, Calipers, and Gage Blocks to ensure dimensional accuracy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline tool manufacturing and delivery processes. Senior Design Engineer Designed high-precision mold inserts, fixtures, and electrodes for EDM sinker operations, engineering changes, fixtures, and new plastic injection molds. Developed detailed mold design packages, including 2D/3D models, BOMs, EOAT (End of Arm Tooling), and hot runner systems. Conducted DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and Mold Flow Analysis to enhance product quality and manufacturability. Conducted high-precision dimensional inspections to validate mold accuracy and quality.

Managed the operation of 3D printing, CNC machining, and laser cutting for prototype development. Provided training and supervision for students on rapid prototyping techniques and CAD software (SolidWorks). Assisted in scientific research projects focused on additive manufacturing and industrial design. Oversaw procurement of materials, machines, and consumables for laboratory operations.
