Mitochondria and cardiovascular diseases: shape and function of mitochondria in health and heart disease: Investigated the impact of the deletion of Mtfp1, a mitochondrial gene, in vitro, in vivo, and ex-vivo - Led multiple projects requiring the generation of 1) transgenic mouse models for in vivo and ex vivo cardiovascular phenotyping 2) immortalized cell lines and primary cells for biochemical and molecular biology purposes -Optimized and standardized protocols for all laboratory operations to analyze the effects of mitochondrial gene deletion on tissue, cell, and organelle function -Mastered confocal microscopy by using automated 96- 384 well plate microscopes (Opera, Operetta Perkin) and defined image analysis protocols by using machine learning approaches -Communicated at more than 10 international and national conferences -Written 3 scientific articles and published in peer-reviewed journals -Mentored students, lab technicians, and young scientists.

During the PhD, I benefited from international mobility of one year to carry out my research at the Cardiovascular Center of Excellence in New Orleans (USA) to study the beneficial effects of prodrugs in preclinical models (mice and swine) of heart failure.
