Playing a key role in the engagement of supporter organizations in Western Canada and leading the development and delivery of learning programs, advisory services and events – with the main goal to have direct and sustainable impact on the advancement of women in business and inclusive workplaces.

Edmonton City Council appointed 11 community members to the City’s Community Safety and Well-being Task Force. An additional five members will sit on the Task Force, two appointed by the Chief of Police, two appointed by the City Manager, and one appointed by the chair of the Edmonton Police Commission. The Task Force will work independently to develop recommendations to address racism, discrimination, excessive use of force, poverty and homelessness in Edmonton, based on trends, best practices and change models from across Canada. The community members include individuals from diverse backgrounds, each with valuable skills, lived experiences, knowledge and understanding of community safety.

Working at an organizational level to develop strategy and design solutions that translate business and HR strategy to engagement drivers to create a highly engaged and productive workforce. This includes leading Stantec’s Diversity & Inclusion strategy and delivery, which directly impacts how we create opportunity by inviting, embracing and celebrating differences. In addition, working with business and HR leaders, as well as D&I champions, to deliver a culture of inclusion in which everyone feels they can bring their whole selves to our workplace, as well as enabling local, grassroots employee-led initiatives.

Responsible for developing and implementing an annual corporate strategic plan and supporting business unit plans, including the overall coordination of the strategic planning team. Involved in developing overall strategic performance metrics and targets.

Responsible for the development of the strategic planning process, along with the long-term plan, in addition to contributing to the development of the organization’s key business strategy and objectives. Working directly with the Executive Team to ensure alignment to the Corporate Strategy and providing strategic and tactical leadership in identifying potential business directions and initiatives.

- Ensured compliance with legal arrangements and joint venture agreements specific to Alberta coal assets owned and operated by Capital Power. - Built and maintained strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. - Identified and analyzed opportunities with respect to current and future commercial management and operation of Alberta coal assets. - Made recommendations and led efforts to manage and resolve issues and disputes that arose in respect of existing commercial arrangements.

- Provided project management and project coordination for development opportunities and acquisition of power production facilities. - Built and maintained key relationships with utilities and potential off-take partners. - Sourced and identified power development investment opportunities.

- Managed all aspects of the Regulated Rate Option (RRO) product provided to over 600,000 customers across Alberta including the accuracy of rate calculations, RRO procurement and monthly rate filings with the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board. - Worked with consumer representatives on the implementation of EPCOR Energy Price Setting Plan, ensured suppliers participated in procurement sessions, worked with the central clearing facility and validated all inputs to the calculation of the monthly energy rate.

- Continued support of EPCOR’s tariff applications through drafting, editing and reviewing required material. - Participated in industry working committees and contributed to strategy discussions between business units. - Supported the development of a corporate position on policy matters and provided background information to regulatory managers.

Program provided skills and abilities to meet organizational challenges now and in the future, focusing on the foundational principles of vision, mission, strategy and implementation.

Course examined core decision-making challenges, analyses of complex negotiation scenarios, and provided a range of competitive and cooperative negotiation strategies.
