Research on ionic liquids as cosolvents in biodiesel synthesis. The goal is to develop clean, safe, renewable, and sustainable energy sources. My role involves investigating how ionic liquids, especially those based on long-chain acids (C6 to C18), interact in mixtures used for biodiesel synthesis. The objective is to understand the behavior of these compounds and predict their effect on the transesterification reaction. The results of this research aim to increase reaction yield and biomass utilization, marking a significant step toward a more diversified global energy matrix. Using methodologies for the synthesis of ionic liquids and their characterization through **NMR** and **FT-IR** spectroscopy, I am also responsible for analyzing the thermophysical properties of ternary and binary mixtures involving ionic liquids, alcohols, esters, and fatty acids. This includes measurements of density, sound velocity, and surface tension to understand phase equilibrium within the system. The required skills include data processing, consolidation of studied systems, and thermodynamic modeling. By the end of this project, my peers and I intend to contribute to the efficiency of biodiesel production, advocating for a sustainable energy future.
