Participating in Formula student developed my engineering skills by taking part in designing and building a single-seated racing car. This involvement established my understanding of working within the pressures of performance, cost, time, reliability, safety, environment and competition regulations. At the Formula student competition, we competed competitively on track in multiple race events. Assessments on each of the participants knowledge was through presentations, with our technical and innovative assumptions being challenged in particular.

Thesis - DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A MATERIAL EXTRUSION PRINTER FOR FUNCTIONAL GRADIENT PEEK COMPONENTS - Grade: 81% Design and build of a 3D Printer (Material Extrusion) possessing capabilities to extrude a high performance polymer - Poly Ether EtherKetone (PEEK) and to produce a functional gradient in a single part. Research and finite element modelling skills were used to simulate the extrusion process and melt kinetics, while thermal and process parameters were controlled to produce a range of crystallinity levels in a component.

The designs had to conform to various specifications such as, ROHS compliancy, EIA standards and load testing. During the project I developed the models using Pro Engineer and tested using FEA (ANSYS) sotware.
