Automation is being used to not only make things faster and more efficient, but to make processes “better”, cutting down on waste, including time and material, and using vision systems to check 100% of all parts. It’s an exciting industry to be in with the advent of shop and production level reporting to management, with intelligent production systems, or systems that can email or text the maintenance department when there is a problem or alarm. With the rocket pace at which communications is also going, it’s no surprise that we are seeing more VPN connections to plants, cloud data solutions and working more closely with IT departments to provide companies more data and greater technical support.
