• Corrected and improved the design of electrical assemblies to reduce device downtime. The root causes of electrical failures were investigated to reduce the likelihood of failure reoccurrence. • Performed system level trouble shooting on technical electrical issues to improve the quality and on time delivery of the manufactured devices. • Improved integration and test procedures through standardization of procedures amongst integrators leading to more consistent cycle times and easier device planning • Supported knowledge and production transfer to a 3rd party company in Guadalajara, Mexico. Worked closely with their engineers, giving them hands on experience with the devices which allowed for successful completion of the outsourcing project. • Designed, built, and maintained test jigs and fixtures that allowed for parallel production between Vancouver and the outsourced facility. Jig building included analysis of the jig requirements as well as hands on mechanical work, soldering, and crimping. • Maintained production scripts through programming in C in order to reduce the time required to integrate the device.

• Designed electrical cable assemblies and drew schematics using Microsoft Visio to allow for first article procurement. • Built cable assemblies through crimping and soldering to accommodate part shortages. • Tested a number of laser sensors and analyzed the results to determine possible components for future device features.

• Programmed firmware in C for the microcontrollers on the haptic forceps and their controller. Documented extensively all code written for the project which allowed future programmers on the project to quickly make modifications. • Debugged existing circuits to improve control of the forceps. Designed and built new circuitry to improve the feedback performance.

• Performed calibrations and simulations involving neutron flux to better understand the effects of neutrons on sensitive electronic equipment. • Produced neutron energy spectrums and angular distributions. • Developed a design note regarding the Neutron Irradiation Facility.

• Followed test plans to locate bugs in software. • Wrote summaries of bugs found in software and revised test plans. • Researched and wrote a report on automated software test tools.
