Quantity surveyor for the client, duties included: site inspections & meetings, progress claims, bank reports and drawdowns, RFI's, variations, job Instructions, client communications.

Estimator - Q/S for Cape Ltd covering a wide variety of Small Works and Maintenance projects for interiors & construction which has been anything up to $1.2m. Most of my work was in the $15k to $400k range.

For the last nearly 2 years I was in the role of Q/S - Joinery Estimation / Quoting for all joinery aspects of Page and Co's operation with some crossover into Construction. For 2 years prior, I was in the role of 'Supply Chain / Purchasing officer'​, processing all job sheets for the factory. This involved sourcing and purchasing everything required for production for the company. Continually sourcing the best prices, monitoring pricing and renegotiating deals while following up on deadlines and outsourced work. Some of our main clients are Michael Hill Jewellers, Z Energy, Lotto, Priceline (Australia), L'Oreal, Bunnings, Telecom, Skinny, Robert Harris, Icebreaker, to name a few.

My main duties were Project Management and hands on installing as required. Some of the clients I was involved with were Gelatiamo on Viaduct Harbour, Mozaik Coffee in Hamilton and Auckland city, private apartments, L'Oreal stands, Hair-Dressing salons in Auckland and Tauranga.

* Main duties were Production Planning and Purchasing. * Some of our larger clients were New World, Pak-n-Save, Telecom & Pumpkin Patch, for whom I would also maintain consignment stock in our warehouse. * We also were part of the Sky City hotel refurbishment. * A lack of work meant a number of us were let go.

I developed Pyramids H&S system from the beginnings that they had, to passing a DOL & ACC audit and gaining both Primary & Secondary Certification in one go. I was involved in systems improvement and creating cost cutting measures to improve financial savings and manufacturing efficiencies. I was also involved with Purchasing and Production Scheduling as required. I created procedures manuals for office protocols and factory tasks, along with using AutoCAD and Solidworks as required for design and manufacture. I would also get my hands dirty and work on the factory floor on a regular basis assisting where required.

I was responsible for the all daily planning and production within the factory and for organising teams of installers for the installation of stairs and handrails into houses and housing developments. Sovereign homes and Fletcher building were among our 2 largest clients. I also arranged all logistics and handled all purchasing duties. Unfortunately the economic downturn created a large slump for the firm leaving several of us out of work.

I was in the process of restoring client faith in the company and restructuring the factory when we were forced into liquidation by a large client owing us a large sum. I was responsible for the factories production and installation of our products into homes and retail clients.

By the time my term with La-Z-Boy had finished, I was responsible for Managing the Design Department. This included producing designs ready for production within a reasonable time frame to our clients satisfaction, and ready for sale complete with costs and times for manufacturing. We would take designs from concept stage using freehand sketches and Solidworks to creating prototypes and testing them through the factories production process. Under my lead, we took the design process from being a disorganised, time consuming process, to being a streamlined, smooth process with a very high success rate. The economic climate took its toll and all production was moved overseas by late 2007

I ran the machining department for this Solid Timber furniture manufacturer for several years. We made Bedroom suites and Lounge furniture. At the time of my departure when I moved to New Zealand, I had 25 staff reporting to me. I used to program CNC machinery, schedule daily production and create component drawings to manufacture our products. I also developed their first H&S system from scratch.
