Enrique Fernández
Sr Staff Autonomy Developer @ OTTO by Rockwell Automation
About
I have been working in Robotics, Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence for more than 10 years. In particular, I have designed and implemented Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM), Path Planning techniques, Robotics Architecture, Control Systems, and other related AI and Robotics stuff. More specifically, since 2009 I have been working in Underwater Computer Vision and Robotics. I have worked on the development of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), I have worked with state-of-the-art AUVs and Ocean Gliders, as part of my PhD Thesis. I have also worked on the design of Visual SLAM and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS). In 2013 I joined PAL Robotics to work with humanoid wheeled and biped robots (REEM and REEM-C). I was responsible of the Autonomous Navigation algorithms: differential platform control, obstacle avoidance, path planning, localization and SLAM, as well as system integration. In 2015 I moved to Canada to work at Clearpath Robotics as a Senior Autonomy Developer. There I worked on the OTTO Motors division, now acquired by Rockwell Automation. I've also written three books about ROS and I'm a ROS Control diff_drive_controller maintainer.
