Undertaking a summer placement with Mott MacDonald. Working within the Drainage design team producing preliminary flood risk assessments of sites and detailed drainage and highway drawings. Basic experience using Infoworks to carry out attenuation size modeling and production of pipe networks.

Undertaken year long placement with leading Consultants Mott MacDonald after completing 2nd year of MEng degree. Experience in LRT, Highways, Railways and Bridges. Carried out basic horizontal and vertical tramway alignment using MX Road and AutoCAD. Assisted project engineers in the role of Client Advisers in design stage of D&B process.

Worked within a group of engineers including Structural and Mechanical engineers. Observed how testing was being carried out for possible ground contamination on land just beyond the main site building which is also owned by the company. Gained experience using CAD software, Microsation working with 2D plans of sites and internal layouts.

Constantly interacting with students, dealing with high-pressure situations and problem solving. Worked in a variety of student accommodation reception desks. Carried out numerous guided accommodation tours for students and parents on University open days. Responsibility of manning a primary University reception desk. Dealing with a variety of enquires and general office duties including answering the telephone, managing correspondence bookings.
