Emma Ottosen

I have over seven years of experience in the photography industry and I served as the photo editor for three years at The Daily UW, where I led a team of over 30 staff members, as well as one of the lead photojournalists for Montlake Futures. My emphasis on sports has led me to opportunities to photograph professional teams and outlets such as the Seattle Sounders, Seattle Reign, NFL, MLB, NWBA, as well as collegiate sports at UW. Beyond sports, I do freelance work in other areas such as family and senior portraits, and community events.

Photojournalist with Montlake Futures, which is the NIL branch of the University of Washington. I’ve been to several events for student athletes, where I’ve taken photos for social media and other promotional advertisements.

I am currently working as a research assistant at the L16hthouse clinical trial at Seattle Children’s hospital. I both work with participants and their families in task and test completion, as well as completing back-end data entry.

I lead a team of over 30 photographers who produce media content for The Daily UW, the student newspaper for the University of Washington. Beyond just managing this team, I also work as a sports photojournalist, covering both home and away games for nearly every sport offered.

Worked at a local cafe for over a year during the pandemic, eventually earning the status of a senior staff member. I interacted with customers every day and worked tight schedules, indicating customer service skills and abilities.

I am a third-year student at the University of Washington, currently pursuing my BS in Psychology and BA in Dance. My BS in Psychology has an emphasis on social psychology and laboratory work.
