I worked here during the Summer holidays 2002-3, 2003-4 and 2004-5 as Business Centre Co-ordinator. My duties were mainly administrative however I organised bookings, arranged meetings and set up audio/visual equipment.

I write a fortnightly column for the website (forcesofgeek.com) which focuses on video games and the gaming industry. My articles are incredibly versatile and can range from reviews, retrospects and personal anecdotal pieces to in-depth analysis, features and top 10 lists. However, due to the broad nature of popular culture I occasionally review books, comics and TV shows. The site reaches a wide audience and is constantly growing.

I maintained and was responsible for the 'Genre' sections (Crime, Romance, Sci-fi, Fantasy and Graphic Novels), keeping them organised, creating and implementing visual displays and keeping charts up to date. I passed on my specialist product knowledge to customers and recommended titles and authors on a daily basis. I also informed customers of event and industry news such as new releases, book launches and publishing news. After a year I moved to the Children's Section and ran arts and crafts events, as well as offering parents advice on the right books for their children. I ran the section alone on Sundays and my regular storytime sessions were very successful, with many regular families in attendance.

I co-produce a web series and have made several short films, including several which have been submitted to various festivals. Our most recent nominations were for a short silent film called The Erased Line, which was nominated for a Limelight Award (2014) and a dark comedy zombie short called BFF the following year which was also award nominated. I have spoken on panels at VidFest UK and MCM Comic Con London about filmmaking, web series, women in filmmaking and video production. I am involved at every level of production including pre-production (writing, casting, scheduling, budgeting), production (directing, camera operating, boom operating, sound recording) and post-production (sound and video editing, visual effects, promotion/PR). We strive to create original, entertaining content whilst maintaining artistic integrity. We are also available to hire for commercial work including advertisements, music videos, brand awareness and corporate training videos. I graduated with honours in Philosophy but also spent two semesters studying Japanese Language. My dissertation focused on the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and Aesthetics (Philosophy of Art). I specialised in Twentieth Century Philosophy, Aesthetics, Moral Philosophy, Ancient Greek philosophy and Film as Philosophy. I was the president of the Undergraduate Philosophy Society in my second and third year. I liased with staff members, lecturers, guest speakers and students to organise weekly talks, discussion groups and seminars. I also completed a WJEC Award in Beginner's Japanese achieving a distinction. Activities and Societies: I was part of the Japanese Culture Society and took additional classes in Parapsychology and Film.
