Emily Cook

As assistant coach, my main responsibilities are to provide anything my head coach may need. This includes running practices, communicating with external businesses to order gear, organizing team building events, and attending all competitions and team events as a chaperone. As a young coach, one of my main goals is to connect with my dancers and serve as a mentor as they navigate throughout high school and beyond. I have been with the team for 6 years (4 as a member and 2 as a coach) and I have seen the team through several national placements as well as a state championship in 2022.

As the Yellow Rose Gala Chair, I served as the main point of contact between the Chi Delta chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi and our philanthropic focus, Ryan’s Case for Smiles. I also lead our chapter in achieving individual fundraising goals by organizing and executing 13 fundraisers between May 2022 and March 2023. I also was in charge of all aspects of event planning including event marketing, securing speakers, day-of operations, and securing donations. After the event on March 25th, 2023, we raised over $26,000.

Served as an active member of the highest academic achieving Greek chapter on Saint Joseph’s campus. Participated in philanthropy events serving Fighting Hunger. Also served as chapter photographer for several events.

Selected from a highly competitive group of applicants to serve as an ambassador to Saint Joseph's by providing tours to prospective students and their families.

Work to provide a positive learning environment for high school dance teams to work on material and compete for a national qualification in a summer camp setting. Selected as “Social Staff” and ran a personal company instagram account as well as participated in company wide social media takeovers.

6 month long internship focusing on the development and production of Rivertowns Magazine. As an intern, I conducted fact checking, sourced photography, interviewed and wrote for two columns, developed the events calendar, and helped with daily office tasks.
