I staffed the reference desk, providing reference services in person, over the phone, and over chat. I also led library orientation sessions for incoming Freshmen, and collaborated in collection development.

I created Collection 254 “Grand Rapids Neighborhood and Business Associations,” and processed various collections related to Grand Rapids neighborhoods.

Our vision for Seattle is to contribute to the community fabric and to help it be a city where imagination and opportunity thrives. Our mission as The Seattle Public Library is to bring people, information and ideas together to enrich lives and build community.

I supported the university community in research and learning how to use the library. I taught 50-60 library instruction sessions per year. I provided research guidance in-person, by email, and by chat (IM). I maintained the Shapiro Undergraduate Library website. I selected and weeded materials for the Shapiro Undergraduate Library in a variety of subjects. I managed the Browsing Collection, the library’s leisure reading collection. I used this collection to experiment with different models of collecting, including purchasing materials from a local independent bookseller.
