Dr Bell-Anderson is the current Chair of the Nutrition Society Australia (Sydney). Experience included: - Genotyping mice using PCR and gel electrophoresis to determine those possessing the Kruppel-like factor gene (Klf3) knockout. Klf3 knockout mice have been found to have less white adipose tissue, and their fat pads contain smaller and fewer cells. - Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to determine Leptin concentrations in Klf3 and Klf8 wild type and knockout mice fed on standard chow and high fat diets. - Triglyceride extraction and assay to determine levels of triglyceride in the livers of Klf3 wild type, heterozygous and knockout mice. - Providing assistance and filming for the vascular cannulation of rats for Honours research project
