During my time at University I took the roles of Pre Production Assistant and Assistant Producer for our pilot chat show ‘The Sam Speed Show’. For the ‘As Live’ show I chose my first rotating role as director due to previously doing this at sixth form. I then went on to challenge myself for the rest so I also worked as floor manager, PA and vision mixer. I learnt how to use the vision mixer and then pass on my skills to peers. Working on other productions I rotated through different roles within the studio including presenter, director, vision mixer and floor manager. Whilst studying at BCU I discovered the academic side was not for me. I preferred being operational within television production, even though my time there was beneficial.
