Emily Whitworth

During this role my main focus has been designing furniture, storage solutions and accessories for office spaces. It has also involved researching the interior and office design industry so I have developed my skills in interior design as well as product design. I had the ability to use this knowledge when I became a key person in designing the new showroom and much of my work can still be seen there. I have developed my CAD skills having learnt AutoCad and Fusion 360 and am now fluent in them. I have always wanted to incorporate materials that are as sustainable as possible and this role has given me the opportunity to research many new and exciting materials we can use to replace less sustainable options.

I worked here part-time towards the end of my Product and Industrial Design degree and then full time after I graduated while looking for design jobs. My main roles throughout this job were to keep the garden centre tidy, assist customers with their orders and create displays.

I worked here part-time while I was studying for my Foundation Diploma and Product and Industrial Design Degree. My duties involved working on the tills, collecting customer orders and advising customers on the correct products.

This position involved helping upload products to the company website and making sure they had the correct prices. I also did research for the company into brands that were sustainable and better for the environment so that they could reach out to them and hopefully start selling their homeware. I was introduced to emailing customers and how the content is created and put together to make an aesthetically pleasing email as well as providing information.
