About

As a book coach, I've helped over 400 authors turn their book dreams into reality. Author, podcaster, and entrepreneur Mark Leruste described me as “an iron fist in a velvet glove.” I've ghostwritten and edited for over 40 bestselling books, with a Wall Street Journal bestseller among them. Some editors are technicians; I'm a depthfinder. My greatest joy is in helping authors go deeper in collaboration than they can on their own. From bestselling author and sex educator Kenneth Play: “I appreciate how deeply she listened and crystallized my ideas on the page. This book had to go through her to be birthed.” My own book, Please Make Me Love Me, is a memoir Kirkus Reviews called “refreshingly forthright and illuminating.” As author and filmmaker Kathryn Bertine said, “Emily does not wade gently into the pool of personal narrative. She dives headfirst.” From Woniya Thibeault, author and first female winner of Alone: “Sweet, funny, sexy, poignant, tragic, uplifting, it runs the gamut of human emotion and brings us to a place of self discovery and empowerment at the end.” I've been a writing professional for over 15 years as a presenter and teacher, book developer, magazine writer, memoirist, and podcast host and guest, helping people unearth and tell their stories in various forms.

Ghostwriter | Editor | Book Coach Through coaching hundreds of authors, I’ve seen something incredible: Authors begin the process with the goal of creating a book—and reaping the benefits this brings them. - Speaking on stages like TEDx and the Moth. - Enlisting passionate new clients to their work. - Spreading their story and message at a scale only a book can reach. - Sharing their stories and inner truths more openly with loved ones. But over the course of our work together, they discover these benefits don’t lie in the distant future—their lives are transforming now. Because the secret to making books is that the process forces you to become a better communicator. Creating a book is the best practice I know for articulating your wisdom, witnessing your story, and standing bold in your truth. These gains don’t just appear when you publish. They happen every day you create your work. Don’t let your wisdom die with you. I can help you bring it to life.

Living in a city with daily sunshine and nearly 1,000 miles of bike routes has been a boon for Emily, who is a writer on bikes and adventure in Tucson, Arizona. Her interest in human-powered feats was sparked in her hometown by the Shawnee National Forest in Illinois, where a hike meant solitude, a bicycle meant freedom, and both carved a deep understanding of how physical endeavors maintain sanity. Now Emily is surrounded by mountains and inspiring cyclists, climbers, runners and outdoors people whose stories and inspiration she's shared in local publications, Bicycle Times and upcoming issues of Mountain Flyer and Momentum Magazine. Her latest endeavor, THE CARTOGRAPHER'S DAUGHTER, is a young adult dystopian adventure novel. Take a look at www.EmilyKidd.com.
