Emily Bell (Stonebreaker)
Senior Talent Acquisition Partner @ SMX
About
I started my career as an Employment Specialist at a non-profit working directly with candidates to help them obtain jobs in their desired fields by supporting and prepping them through the job search phase and providing ongoing career support. I then transitioned into recruiting with a DoD contractor and have been able to learn the ins-and-outs of hiring from the employer point-of-view. I'm currently working as an in-house recruiter for an IT and Engineering solutions provider and always keep candidates in mind while supporting the needs and goals of the company.

Recruiting Coordinator
Lexington Park, MD
As a Recruiting Coordinator I work closely with a team of recruiters and hiring managers to provide recruiting and administrative support in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. I manage recruiting activities, including: candidate management, scheduling interviews, completing pre-offer paperwork, and providing sourcing support for open requisitions. I review for accuracy Offer Requests and new Personnel Requisitions and input data into the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). I manage the Employee Referral Program by documenting referrals, tracking eligibility, and submitting payout requests. My experience also includes coordinating New Hire Orientation on a weekly basis, collecting new hire paperwork, and completing I-9 forms for each new employee. I market open requisitions and manage postings to numerous external job boards, in addition to preparing for and attending job fairs to engage with potential applicants. I also serve as backup for tracking metrics related to open requisitions and offers, and complete regular recruiting reports as needed.

Employment Specialist II
Pathways, Inc
Hollywood, MD
As an Employment Specialist II I am responsible for training new Employment Specialists and coaching current Employment Specialists as needed. I re-engage consumers who have difficulty actively participating in the Vocational Program by reaching out to family members, clinicians, and community providers to identify and accommodate barriers to participation. I organize and lead Person-Centered Planning meetings to re-evaluate the goals of each consumer in the Supported Employment Program and identify interventions needed to achieve goals. I consistently educate clients on and work to enforce program requirements and policies. My duties also include taking meeting minutes on a weekly basis for Vocational Program meetings and inter-team meetings in addition to preparing and sending professional correspondence. Additionally, I update databases accordingly while managing ongoing Employment Specialist I duties.

Employment Specialist I
Pathways, Inc

As an Employment Specialist I was responsible for managing a caseload of 18+ individuals in an Evidence-Based Supported Employment Program and for which I created, maintained, and updated consumer files on an on-going basis. My regular duties included implementing person-centered plans for each consumer and meeting on a weekly basis in order to address vocational goals and mental health symptom management. I coached individuals on communication and interview skills and created resumes and cover letters to assist in obtaining employment. I updated consumer files and assisted in identifying and referring individuals to appropriate community resources while networking with community employers for job development. I documented all interactions on a daily basis and completed monthly progress notes for all consumers. I consistently scheduled appointments and adjusted priorities as necessary to meet with consumers, family members, employers, mental health professionals, and rehabilitation counselors while facilitating communication between all individuals. I was also responsible for independently planning and implementing a Brain Injury Recovery Program for cognitive retraining purposes and maintained client confidentiality at all times.
