* Managed a $4 million grant portfolio and a staff of six. * Worked with state and town officials to provide low-income wireless internet access to low income families.

* Developed background research and drafted white papers on teacher training and certification. * Conducted research to support the implementation of the Teacher Incentive Fund grant in high-needs districts. * Designed and conducted program evaluation studies of Federal Grant Implementation. * Analyzed educator performance ratings from the statewide educator evaluation system. Identified areas of strength and weakness in system implementation by comparing evaluation results with student growth percentiles and disaggregating ratings by student and teacher characteristics. Shared results with agency leadership to guide improvements to the system. * Co-authored the “Status of the Massachusetts Educator Workforce” report, a publicly available report on the state’s educator pipeline, from preparation and licensure to evaluation and retention.

* Analyzed longitudinal data regarding student reenrollment collected from a state-run database. * Compiled research on graduation testing in multiple states to provide recommendations around improving graduation rates to a legislative task force on the use of standardized testing. * Developed instruments, tools and strategies for collecting quantitative and qualitative data to inform state policy regarding English Language Learners.

* Collaborated with district & school leaders in seven school districts across North Carolina to support their use of a research-based summer reading intervention for low-income students. * Conducted independent research on North Carolina policymakers’ use of research evidence when making decisions about how to spend federal dollars on summer programs for students * Served as the Communications Director, expanding the profile of READS for Summer Learning through website creation, strategic use of Twitter, and regular newsletters. * Served as a representative of the organization, answering questions about student reading in early grades and directing inquires to appropriate resources. * Gathered, synthesized, and edited research findings to present to funders and school leaders. * Organized and conducted workshops and meetings for both educators and researchers on summer reading loss.
