The Material Supply Management Manager (MSMM) , is in charge of supporting the projects procurement teams, after the placement of the applicable Purchase Orders, regarding the management of passive contracts with Vendors. The MSMM will also assess, draft and negotiate with Vendors the potential contractual amendments and the agreements on requests for changes, compensation of liquidated damages and backcharges, for critical Purchases. Key Activities & Responsibilities: • provide contractual guidance to Project Team members; • review/draft correspondence having contractual relevance, contract amendments, settlement agreements; • administer release of payments and availability of bank guarantees; • analyze and directly negotiate claims or change requests from/to counterparties; • lead the support team in internal reporting, quantum and delay calculation, records collection.

From Feb2016 to Dec2018 - Assignment to Luterbach -SO (Switzerland) construction site for the supervision of the procurement activities associated with the construction of the new biopharmaceutical plant of BIOGEN.  Novartis – SCALE Project [Huningue - France] Senior Buyer in the advanced basic design phase for the purchase of equipment and work contracts on a fast track project to increase the manufacturing capacity of a Biopharma multi-product production unit.

Main responsibilities of the role: - management of research and scouting for new suppliers with a view to internationalization of procurement; - management of negotiations with suppliers (national and international) of raw materials, equipment, facilities, supplies, and negotiations with subcontractors for the mechanical, electro-instrumental and civil works, in terms of quali-quantitative conditions of purchase, time of delivery and payments; - analysis and evaluation of work estimates and drafting contracts for allocating work to subcontractors; - comparison with the various concerned company departments in order to properly define the requirements and set the standards of the products required; - definition of procurement strategies and policies in accordance with the provisions of the Executive Board; - definition of framework agreements for the purchase of raw materials and services, quality control and technical specifications; - coordination of the entire procurement process: supplier selection, issue orders, follow-up, scheduling and logistics; - responsibilities of the Budget of the purchase costs (processing and control) and allocation to relevant cost centers, monitoring of contract costs and approval of suppliers/subcontractors invoices; - sensitivity to agree terms of payment to suppliers and subcontractors that promote positive cash flow in relation to Client payments.

Chemical start-up Company of Solon Group with the purpose to build a chemical plant, one of the largest in the world, for the production of high-purity Silicon for the photovoltaic industry. Being a start-up, the first years the company operated as a major EPC Engineering Contractor fulfilling all the typical activities for the plant construction it should have to operate after completion. As Procurement Manager I had the responsibility (in terms of time, cost and quality) to guarantee the supply of all equipment, materials and the execution of all construction works, from the site preparation until the mechanical completion. I worked as a representative of the property and managed a working team formed by experienced staff of different nationalities (about 25 dedicated resources) of Jacobs Engineering, Italy. In addition to the position of Procurement Manager I also had the task of supervising all the Engineering activities to: • produce any documentation for carrying out construction permits, • issue the technical specifications for inquiries and issuing orders; • produce all necessary documents for the completion of soil remediation, demolition, site preparation, construction; • finalize negotiations for the issuance of contracts for supplies of raw materials and utilities. The range of investment was about 450 Mio €, with an expected production capacity of 4000 ton/y.

I was in charge to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines, Customers requirements and within budget. This included directing resources in a matrix structured organization and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects according to plan. As Project Manager I also had to define the project objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. I settled all the requisites for the plant based on Client’s specifications, coordinating internal and external Engineering, documents submissions, contacts with the clients and ensuring the full compliance with the contract in terms of delivery, time schedule, contractual specification. I closely cooperated with the Client counterpart and coordinated the project team throughout the entire project life, including site activities management, travelling to Client/Owner’s/suppliers premises for survey and technical and commercial meetings. As Project Manager I was part of a plant-based technical team which supported a large integrated chemical manufacturing site by providing management support and project execution, from conceptual design to start-up, with accountability for cost, scope and schedule. I worked with operations, business, design, procurement and construction personnel to identify and deliver improvements to production capacity and site infrastructure (debottlenecking and revamping).
