I remember from my childhood that I had an enormous fascination for a single-player game called Spore. The player starts off as a small organism and evolves into larger organisms, eventually conquering the solar system. First released in 2008, the game sparked my fascination with biological organisms, a collection of small, protein-based machines (cells) that strive for survival by competing with other organisms for resources. As I grew older, my interest in competition between biological organisms transitioned into a fascination with the survival and competition between nation-states that emerge from the individuals within. War for nations is what life and death is for you and me, a government's first concern is survival. I spend my time working on my startup, developing systems to protect against drones, and exploring ideas at the intersection of security and technology. I’m also fascinated by the theory of consciousness. Humans are assemblies of carbon units that are conscious, and that’s pretty cool.
