Elliott Collyer
Vice President, M&A, Optimization, and Real Estate @ Sunoco LP
About
I'm an operator and investor based in Calgary, focused on acquiring, building, and co-investing in businesses I can help operate and scale. For the last 12 years I was at Parkland Corporation, which Sunoco LP acquired for $12.4B in late 2025. I joined the corporate development team in 2014 when Parkland was a ~$2B regional fuel business, and helped grow it into a North American fuel and convenience platform. Along the way I led or supported 10+ acquisitions totaling ~$3.5B, grew our Canadian retail business to over $8B+ fuel sales and $1B+ convenience sales across 2,000+ stations, and most recently led M&A, network planning, and real estate for Sunoco across Canada and Hawaii post-acquisition.What I actually enjoy is the work getting to the result - finding the right deal, getting it done at the right price, and then doing the unglamorous operational work to make it perform. Sales, margin, overhead, capital - and how the levers connect to the offer, the customer, and the team. The full stack of running a complex, operational business.Outside of Parkland / Sunoco, I own and operate two short-term rental condos in Canmore. I bought and renovated them, built the listings and brand from scratch, and designed an automated operating platform - guest relations, cleaning, maintenance, dynamic pricing - running on AI tools and a connected hardware/software stack. Self-managed with no property manager, and both listings are in the top 5% of the comparable Canmore market. It's been the best operating education I've had in years and a useful reminder that small businesses are a different sport than big ones. What I'm doing now:→ Looking for a business to acquire, build, or co-invest in - ideally something multi-site, services-oriented, light manufacturing, or consumer-facing where I can be hands-on.→ Selectively advising owners, investors, and management teams on sale preparation, acquisitions, value creation, and post-deal execution. I'm choosy about this - happy to have an exploratory conversation, but I take on a small number of engagements where I can genuinely move the needle.→ Open to management and board roles where the business and the people are interestingIf any of that sounds relevant - or if you're a former colleague, competitor, or friend just catching up - reach out. Best email is elliott.c.collyer@gmail.com.Outside of work I spend most of my time with my wife Lucy and our daughter Sierra, and try to ski, hike, golf, and train jiu jitsu when I can.
