About
Building a partner-owned hybrid firm with three innovation-driven functions: advisory, investments, and ventures. Ellen has 15+ years of experience in marketing and communications and previously worked at the unicorn company Epidemic Sound as VP Marketing and VP Brand & Creative, as well as part of the extended leadership team. Before that, she built and ran Sony Music's first creative department globally as part of Sony Music Sweden's leadership team. She worked with artists such as Kent and Linnea Henriksson. She won a Sony Music Innovation competition with a team from Sony Music Sweden in which they developed "sleep music" very early in the category's evolution. Ellen has been a trainee to Carl Fredrik Sammeli at Prime, and was the co-founder and marketing director of the failed startup Act:One, which was part of SSE Business Lab. She has received awards at Cannes Lions, Swedish In-house Agency Awards, The Music Ally Awards, and Guldägget. Ellen holds a BSc in Economics and Management from Stockholm School of Economics, did summer school at Stanford University through a scholarship, and played college golf alongside her studies for two years at Wofford College in South Carolina, USA. Ellen loves music and has various other experiences in the music industry, such as working with the Stockholm Jazz Festival, working in a record store, and as part of the DJ-duo "Pompa & Ståt".

VP Brand & Creative

As VP Brand & Creative, I led a team of 50+ people. The group included the in-house agency, Brand Strategy team, Marketing Operations, Partnership Marketing, and Social Media team. I was part of the Extended Leadership team at the company and the Marketing Leadership team. Key Achievements: 1. I Completed the company's first Brand Strategy in close collaboration with key stakeholders from different departments. 2. I was responsible for our monthly brand reporting to Epidemic Sound's Chairperson, Andrew Fisher (former CEO of Shazam). 3. I was the Point of contact and collaborated closely with the Brand Transformation team at Blackstone (investor). 4. I set up and was responsible for our brand tracking. 5. I improved efficiency in working methods (including testing, follow-up/evaluation of results) across teams/departments. 6. I was responsible for Epidemic Sound's cross-departmental Brand Leadership forum, including departments such as Product, Employer Branding, Music, Business Performance and Planning, and Experience Design. 7. I set up our Partnership Marketing collaboration with Adobe in person in San Fransisco. 8. Epidemic Sound more than tripled the organization's turnover and size during my three years at the company. It furthermore achieved a unicorn valuation after its latest investment round in 2021.

Head of Creative

As Head of Creative, I'm leading a talented team of 6 and I'm part of the management team. Responsible for building, recruiting and developing Sony Music Sweden's Creative Team and making sure our work is innovative and of the highest standard. The Team is responsible for making art direction, visual identities, artworks, press pictures, music videos and other video material, and creative campaigns/activations. In this role I have continued my work being responsible for creative activations/campaigns for selected Swedish artists. Work made for Sweden's biggest rock band, kent, was for example awarded in Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and in the Swedish In-house Agency Awards.

Creative Manager / Product Manager / A&R
As a Creative Manager, I was responsible for creative campaigns/activations for selected releases from our Swedish artists. My work included planning, strategies, creative ideas/concepts, and project management. Work made for Tove Styrke was for example awarded as one of the best international digital campaigns in 2015 by Music Ally. As a Product Manager, I did project management for Swedish artists releasing music. During this period I also did A&R, both as a trainee and signing my own projects/artists.

Digital Communications and Strategy Manager

Made strategies and implemented guidelines for Sony Music Sweden's social media channels. Responsible for creating creative digital campaigns/activations for our Swedish artists. Such as the digital activation "Cecilia" for our artist Linnea Henriksson, the activation was awarded at the Swedish In-house Agency Awards 2015 for best digital activity.

Junior Consultant
The only Junior Consultant assisting the Group CEO Markus Gustafsson in his work with management counseling to professional services, CEOs, GMs, and Secretary Generals. Strategic counseling mainly to NGOs within the fields of digital projects, such as the production of social media guidelines. Guest speaker at the Stockholm University, School of Business, Economics and Law in Gothenburg, and Nova100 events, lecturing about insights and trends within the communication industry.

Started out as an intern and Press/PR/Marketing Assistant. Developed digital marketing and social media communication. Continued as a Project Manager for the campaign "Stockholm Jazzathon", awarded with a “Guldägg” Diploma in the “Interactive” category. Became the Press/Marketing Coordinator.
