Project Coordinator
Office for Diversity and Inclusion
• Serve as a liaison for eight site diversity councils, which allows employees to share and create new diverse and inclusive initiatives. • Organize events at the seven hospital sites to provide employees information on the Office for Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) and recruit employees to join site diversity council and employee resource groups. • Prepare and distribute all site council, ERG- and ODI-related communications including flyers, monthly diversity and inclusion calendar, special event notices, newsletters, and educational sessions. • Help establish and serve as a liaison for the System’s seven employee resource groups, which help create an inclusive environment for employees, faculty, and students. • Partner with external organizations to provide students (high school - graduate level) internship opportunities through the System. • Coordinate activities for the System’s administrative summer interns, including meetings with ODI leadership, hospital presidents, educational sessions, and networking events. • Post ODI educational sessions on the Oracle Application PEAK (MSHS’ learning management system), credit staff for participation, review session evaluations and provides suggestions for improvement. • Track diversity council and employee resource group yearly progress on ERG Insight system; generate reports for the Executive Diversity Leadership Board and Department Head meetings. • Support the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer on the Graduate Medical Education Diversity Council and the Faculty Diversity Council at the Icahn School of Medicine by being the point contact, scheduling meetings and preparing minutes. • Help manage the Minority Male Initiative, a System-wide effort to support the lack of minority men in medicine and healthcare leadership.

• Created best practices to help establish the ODI’s areas of focus by doing extensive research using DiversityInc, scholarly journals and speaking to individuals in the industry. • Assisted in coordinating monthly diversity council meetings at each of the seven hospital sites. • Shadowed and supported preceptor, ODI Chief Administrative Officer, in senior meetings. • Helped coordinate the first meeting of the Executive Diversity Leadership Board, made up of all seven-hospital presidents and other senior leaders, to discuss diversity and inclusion throughout the System.
