New York City Public Schools has outlined a bold vision to reimagine the educational experience for all students, so they graduate with real world skills and experience, a head start on postsecondary, and a strong plan to put them on a path to a rewarding career and long-term economic security. As Senior Director of Pathways Strategy, my role is to provide leadership on the development and execution of this workforce development and educational strategy. This includes development of systems that allow for monitoring and iteration to strategy as well as providing strategic guidance on key pathways programs and enablers, including employer engagement, FutureReadyNYC, college & career advising, and other signature pathways programs. In addition, I lead the cross-functional team that supports strategy delivery efforts, including creating strategic reflection spaces for reviews of progress and adjustment to the strategy. This work includes the development of strategies and systems for managing key external relationships, including with employers, community-based organizations, funders, and key external stakeholders. Finally, I support the development of strategies for how to leverage public and private funding in support of pathways work.

Leading the creation of scalable and equitable employer engagement strategies to better prepare NYC public school students for sustainable careers and choice filled lives.

Through the Workforce Systems Leadership Program (WSLP), Coro and the Workforce Professionals Training Institute (WPTI) prepare senior leaders to use their skills, expertise, and networks to respond to the changing workforce development landscape, drive innovative practices and improve service delivery for low-income NYC residents seeking employment and career advancement opportunities.

Food Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports culinary-focused public high school students and alumni across NYC. As Executive Director, I oversaw all aspects of the organization. In my time leading the organization, the budget and staff quadrupled in size. The strategic plan I developed alongside the board allowed FEF to develop a stronger mission statement, values, and goals. In my time as ED, FEF added new members to the Board of Directors including Questlove, Dana Cowin, Giovanni Colavita and many others. I also oversaw a re-branding of the organization, increasing our visibility through our social platforms and the creation of a new website. Most importantly, the team, board and I built and implemented multiple ground-breaking programs such as our job training and internship program, our student-run cafe and restaurant, our food distribution program delivering over 800,000 meals, and much more.

Managed the CTE Industry Scholars Program, a workforce development program funded by the Mayor’s Office. Nearly doubled original impact goal and brought on 20+ new industry partners for C-CAP.

Chef Instructor for after school cooking class at NYC public schools. I teach nutrition, food culture and culinary skills to 3rd - 5th graders in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn through the organization Common Threads.

OpenExchange is a secure, web-based platform for financial services and investor relations professionals. Our easy-to-use cloud-based platform enables public companies, investment banks and asset managers to find each other, schedule and conduct one-on-one and group meetings using private, high-quality video. OpenExchange makes connecting with investors, analysts, clients, partners and colleagues over video simple, repeatable and secure.

HarvestLink is a Startup that offers a seamless ordering process for restaurants on a mobile application that will both streamline the ordering process giving chefs more time in the kitchen and make it easier to buy from small and local purveyors. HarvestLink is due to launch in the summer of 2014.

I am responsible for research, writing and production of food radio stories as well as production and research of our food news program. I am also responsible for event planning and management, fundraising efforts and development of a new fundraising position.

Managing the prepared foods department including creating and executing the entire prepared foods menu, managing orders and budget, scheduling, catering, sourcing of local and organic ingredients and managing a small team of chefs.

Research current market trends in the specialty food e-commerce space, help design new projects and start-ups, write copies for new products and assist with business development.
