Growing up under the constraints of a strict traditional Muslim household, I wasn’t allowed to express myself through what I wore. But this limitation planted a seed of creativity and resilience that would later flourish into a global brand. Starting from rock bottom, with no startup money and a second-hand sewing machine gifted to me, I built Elif Köse Fashion House from the ground up. My journey from sewing in a small corner to showcasing collections on the catwalks of Paris and New York is a testament to the transformative power of determination and vision. The Very Vintage was created in 2011 by Elif for all those Vintage Lovers! With over 20 traders selling selected original vintage and antique items as well as vintage inspired goods. The Very Vintage show for the evening part of the event was a sell out, a musical delight that had the audience upstanding. The Rottingdean Village Hall stage hosted a high calibre show put together tailor made just for Elif by Brighton Festival Fringe award winning production company “Beside the Seaside Productions” with West End singers.

I was fascinated when I met the producer of the ‘Here Comes the Bride’ and thrilled to start working on all the costumes. When I first read the script to get an idea for the costumes and pick the colours and design I could not wait to see the musical on the stage. What a fabulous idea it was that everyone was the part of the play but we had to make all the performers look a bit different then audience. It was a great opportunity for me to design and make all the costumes for a spectacular production like this and be a part of Fringe Festival. All the costumes were made at my Tailoring, Alterations & Repairs shop in Rottingdean.

This was a maternity cover position Communicating with all departments to ensure smooth production. Liaising with third party suppliers for packaging and labelling. Compliance checking for all shipments Resolving problems promptly to ensure original deadlines met.
