Elie Pichanick

Currently working as a freelance photographer, videographer, and writer for WXPN. Photographed The Governors Ball Music Festival in NYC. Photographed and completed written reviews of Zach Bryan, The Mountain Goats, Vampire Weekend, Indigo Girls, They Might Be Giants, Matt Quinn and Adam Melchor for WXPN at Union Transfer, Lincoln Financial Field, and The Mann Center. Photographed Blondshell, Dawes, Phosphorescent Bonny Light Horseman, and Alpha Consumer. I photographed and wrote for XPoNential Music Festival where I photographed Julia Pratt, Bully, Jade Bird, Grace Bowers, Guster, and Brittany Ann Tranbaugh, in addition to my written reviews of Brittany Ann Tranbaugh and Guster’s sets. I also did photography and videography for Olivia Rubini’s Key Studio Session.

Currently photographing concerts such as Hozier, Gigi Perez, Conan Gray, Grent Perez, and Samia for OnesToWatch - Live Nation’s emerging talent music blog.

Work as a Photo Editor and Photographer for the independent student newspaper at Smith College, The Sophian.

Work as a concert photographer for both publications and artists. Publications I currently work for include WXPN and OnesToWatch. Publications I have worked for in the past include Haste Magazine, Melophile Media, The Photo Ladies, Staged Haze, and The Honey POP. Artists I have photographed include Judy Collins, The Head and the Heart, Alexa Valentino, Oston, and Kate the Dreamer.

Worked as a portrait photographer for various publications including WXPN and Local Wolves Magazine.

Head of Photography at Emulate Magazine, a student-run art and literary magazine at Smith College. Responsibilities include photographing events, headshots, and contributing to the bi-annual magazine.

Worked as a sports photography intern for the Villanova University Athletics Department from January - February of 2024. Responsibilities included photographing men’s and women’s basketball games (at the Finneran Pavilion and the Wells Fargo Center), taking pictures of the men’s and women’s lacrosse practices, as well as various events and banquets for the teams. Additional work included organizing the archives, and delivering photographs to the athletes, and coaches. I was hired as a production assistant to continue sports photography for Villanova this past fall.

Studied at Bennington for one academic year before transferring to Smith College.

Student at the Center for Performing & Fine Arts, a pre-college arts high school.
