About
I'm a writer, founder (Girls in STEM), speaker, advocate and mathematical physics PhD student at the University of Oxford. I want to change the world through STEM and democracy. I'm a Swede/Persian currently based in the UK. CONTACT: eleonorasvanberg.com/contact If you want to reach out to young people, you have to be present where they are. That's why I'm using social media to inspire the future generation to pursue STEM. I have in total around 500,000 followers across platforms and I'm verified on both TikTok and Instagram. I've worked with; UNESCO, European Commission, Swedish Parliament, Nobel Prize, OpenAI, Google DeepMind, TikTok UK/Nordics, European Space Agency, Apple, etc. I've participated on national TV, newspapers, radio and my debut book about mathematical confidence, especially for young girls, sold over 1000 copies within the first days. I'm always open to collaborate on topics close to my heart — fill out the form on eleonorasvanberg.com/contact :) Fast facts: • Second-year PhD student in mathematical physics at the University of Oxford • Anders Wall Foundation’s Scholarship for Young Scientists 2025 • Selected by TikTok as one in 50 around the world as TikTok ChangeMaker 2025 • Received the Compass Rose Leadership Award, personally elected by the Swedish King in 2021 • 2024 Nordic Pioneer Winner • Master's degree in applied mathematics (=theoretical physics) at the University of Cambridge • Physics BSc degree from Stockholm University • Co-founder of Girls in STEM • "STEM fluencer" = I use social media to influence the next generation to pursue STEM • Writer (book and columnist for magazine SANS and occasionally sending in columns) Personal website: https://www.eleonorasvanberg.com

Serving in Committee for Women and Diversity in Mathematics (3 years mandate)
The youngest member of the committee, serving for 3 years. Tasks: ∙ Looking through grants application and distributing them ∙ Actively keep track of the equality work at all mathematics institutions in the UK ∙ Consult and advise the government and academic institutions on equality and diversity work

Television Presenter
Stockholm
Presenter for the show Bra att veta (Good to Know) by UR (Swedish public service educational content provider). It's an inclusive educational series covering exciting facts — from black holes to sloths — for kids in middle school and adjusted middle school settings. For instance, we're using TAKK signs to ensure it’s accessible and engaging for students with learning disabilities.

Book Author
Signed a book contract for future popular science books. One book is currently in the making, about higher dimensions. My first book can be found in stores in Sweden right now 'Study With Me — Så bygger du matematiskt sjävlförtroende'. (Swedish agency: Fri Tanke)

Undergraduate Researcher
Cambridge, England, United Kingdom
Paid research internship. In short, research about gas dynamics in protoplanetary disks, wave-properties of the vertical shear instability (VSI) in particular. Ended up becoming my first publication: https://doi.org/10.1093/mnras/stac1598 Used both analytical (fluid hydrodynamics, linear perturbation theory) and computational methods (Athena++ 2D hydrodynamics simulations and HPC). Supervised by Dr Can Cui and Prof. Henrik Latter at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics Cambridge. Spent July - Sep 2021 on-site and now working remotely. Funding through the Philippa Fawcett Internship Programme for exceptional students who want to pursue research within mathematics.

Research Intern
Geneva, Switzerland
Despite being a high school student, I had the opportunity to work with (undergrad) summer students one summer at CERN. - ATLAS Experiment - Worked with the Muon Spectrometer Upgrade and the New Small Wheel (computational work, simulations etc)
Education

Applied Mathematics
Accelerated master's program (Part III) in applied mathematics (mathematical physics) Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) Master's thesis: Holographic CFT2: Modular Forms Applied to AdS3 Quantum Gravity . St John's College Funding: Part III International Scholarship by University of Cambridge, The Society of Swedish Engineers in Great Britain, VANBRUUN, etc.
