Over the past years, I’ve immersed myself in Forensic Sciences, Quality Management, and Biometric modalities. As the Head of the Biometrics Team at Europol, I lead a group of experts dedicated to ensure that operational data involving biometric characteristics—such as face, fingerprints, and DNA—are handled in full compliance with Europol Regulation and data protection principles. Our mission is to support the prevention, detection, and combat of serious crimes and terrorism. My strong background in these fields allows me to excel as a dedicated professional committed to deepening my expertise in compliance, quality structures, and innovation. My role involves spearheading strategic initiatives at Europol, researching biometric vulnerabilities, and providing guidance on Horizon 2020 projects. In addition to my current role, I have successfully led the implementation of Quality Management Systems both in the Greek Forensic Science Division and at Europol. This includes conducting comprehensive risk assessments, ensuring adherence to ISO standards, and driving continuous improvement through internal audits.
