Eleanor Girdziusz

With over 20 years in consultancy, Eleanor has extensive experience of developing and delivering the acoustic strategy design for building projects across many sectors. Eleanor joined Stantec in 2023 to lead and develop the building acoustic capabilities in the United Kingdom. Eleanor brings with her the ability to work closely with Clients, to develop and refine the acoustic brief for their project before maintaining a focus on achievement of these goals throughout the project's life. She is a strong advocate for developing innovative ways to communicate the complex concept of sound and pioneers adoption of auralisation and other cutting-edge techniques in her field and seeks to bring industry advancements into all her projects. Eleanor has been involved across a vast range of projects from concept to completion both directly for End Clients - with a Client Monitoring Role during construction - as well as novation to Contractors, with compliance testing on completion to demonstrate that the design brief has been met. Eleanor also champions development of more sustainable building solutions and has specific experience of working on decarbonisation projects for Local Authorities and Education Estates. Eleanor helps raise the profile of the acoustic profession through her involvement in the Association of Noise Consultants Marketing Committee and also in her role as a Examiner for the Institute of Acoustics Diploma. In the latter role, she aims to bring her experience of working in the industry to give a wider insight into future career paths available for new entrants. She also advocates for better awareness of Acoustics as a career through STEM activities, including having recently developed the Architectural Acoustics Module for the Institute of Acoustics Virtual Work Experience Web Programme aimed at secondary school students.
