Research And Development Engineer
- Department Lead of Prototype Development Responsible for advancing novel orthopedic surgical devices and implants from conception to commercialization. Collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers and doctors, I integrate clinical feedback into tangible designs using CAD modeling software. Currently directing rapid prototyping for accelerated timelines through 5-axis CNC milling technologies that will help facilitate innovation and validation of new surgical industry trends.

Quality Engineer
Oversaw compliance of the company's product line to FDA regulations, ISO standards, and cGMP. Reviewed and revised FMEAs while updating Design History Files with new engineering drawings. Performed validation and verification of incoming samples to ensure critical specifications and functionality were met. I also conducted internal audits on existing quality systems and provided recommendations to resolve identified issues.

Graduate Student Researcher
Under the mentorship of Dr. Hyunglae Lee in the Neuromuscular Control and Human Robotics Lab, I examined shoulder joint impedance during dynamic motions in 3D space. Research subjects had to move their arm in a robot exoskeleton through a series of guided motions while random perturbations were applied. The setup involved a 4-bar spherical parallel manipulator mechanism, EMG sensors, and 3 motion capture cameras that relayed data for the second-order model that was developed. This relationship calculated shoulder impedance using inertia, damping, and stiffness.

Biotechnology Intern

Conducted a comparative analysis between two automated dispensing robots: Andrew+ and Opentrons. This involved writing an oligonucleotide dispensing protocol using Python that the robots would each have to execute. I subsequently evaluated the performance of each piece of equipment based on contamination, accuracy, precision, efficiency, and independence. In doing so, I provided recommendations on the viability of both robots' integration within the production line for the future. My side responsibilities involved overseeing the specific binding of sensitive reagents to the medical device using UV-Vis Spectrophotometers and assayed slides.
