Executive of Enel Generación Chile and General Manager of Hydraulic Engineering and Construction
Santiago, Chile
As a member of the Enel Generación Chile board, I oversaw hydroelectric projects under construction. These include Los Cóndores, a run-of-river hydropower station nestled in the Andes, as well as the greenfield construction of new facilities. Additionally, I was involved in the repowering for both the Sauzal and Antuco hydropower stations. My responsibilities encompass shaping construction strategies, addressing financial matters, and reporting project outcomes to the Board of Directors.

Senior Project Manager
Chile
I led the Los Cóndores hydroelectric project, a run-of-river power station nestled in the Andes. This ambitious venture involved an investment more than $1billion, resulting in a capacity of 153MW and an annual energy production of 642GWh. The project spanned 13.7km of tunnels, constructed using two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), and featured a 450m penstock (vertical shaft) excavated with a Rise Boring Machine (RBM) from a cavern. Additionally, we established an 87km high-voltage transmission line (2x220 kV) in the challenging mountain terrain. My responsibilities included overseeing the project’s recovery, which had initially commenced in 2014. During this phase, I implemented crucial modifications to the project design. For instance, we replaced the surge tank with a spiral tunnel and adjusted the methodology for executing the pressure shaft. I also facilitated the financial reapproval of the project and engaged in negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and landowners.

Head of Construction Chile and Andean Countries
Chile
As the leader of the international team in the region, I was responsible for achieving results at each job site. This was accomplished through driving standardization and optimizing processes across our sites. I also handled planning, control, and the review of construction methodologies. In addition, I oversaw contract management and maintained strong relationships with our contractors. Projects executed: - Cerro Pabellón, Chile, Geothermal power plant, 48MW at 4.600masl. - Sauzal, Chile, Hydropower station, 80MW, repowering project, plant in operation stopped for this intervention. - Antuco, Chile, Hydropower station, 321MW, repowering project, plant in operation stopped for this intervention. - Huampaní, Peru, Hydro, 0,7MW, prototype greenfield stream diver in the existing discharge channel. - Callahuanca, Peru, Hydro, 84MW, rehabilitation after damage with mud by flooding that put the plant out of service. - Wayra I, Peru, Wind farm, 132MW. - Rubí, Peru, Solar PV plant 180MW. - El Quimbo, Colombia, Hydropower station, 400MW, dam reprofiling and stabilization during its operational phase. - El Paso, Colombia, Solar PV plant 86MW. - Pampa, Argentina, Wind farm (constructability analysis) 100MW.

Site Plan Manager
Apiacás - Mato Grosso - Brazil
Apiacás, Hydroelectrical Complex 102MW, 3 hydropower stations, green field: Salto Apiacás, Fazenda and Cabeca de Boi. As a site project manager, I took charge of realigning the project schedule for the entire complex. To prevent delays and expedite progress, we executed interventions concurrently rather than sequentially. My responsibilities encompassed redefining construction strategies and managing financial aspects, which included negotiating with suppliers and contractors.

Site Manager
El Quiché - Guatemala
Palo Viejo, Hydropower plant, 87MW, rehabilitation. As a Site Manager, I spearheaded the slope stabilization and channel reconstruction efforts in response to landslides that had disrupted plant operations. My responsibilities encompassed assessing the damage caused by the landslides, conducting geotechnical surveys, implementing slope reprofiling, and installing anchors and drains. These measures were essential for the future rebuilding of channels and roads.
